Properties Of Compounds
Ionic
-High molting point (large attraction due to bonds)
-Conduct electricity as a liguidor dissolued (charges free to move)
-Solids don't conduct
Molecular
-Low meltring point (smoll attraction due to bonds)
-Don't conduct under most circumstances.
Ionic bond
-So when we write a representation of an ionic bond, we draw an electron -dot diagram. (Valence shells to demonstrate it)
Coualent bonds
-Sometimes the elements share pairs of electrons and this keeps the compound they form together.
-When two elements share are pair of electrons, it is called a single bond. If sharing two pairs, it's called a double, if 3 then triple.
-A binary conpound (diatomic molecule) has two different atom.
